    Lebanon's Tripoli, China to boost economic ties

    (MENAFN) A Lebanese official made a pledge on Friday, stressing that Tripoli and China are ready to bolster their relations in the field of economy.

    The statement has been made by Lebanon's International Chamber of Commerce and Industry vice president Wael Yassin at a meeting held with Tripoli's Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture, Ibrahim Foz.

    The vice president stated "we will explore ways of coordinating with China in a bid to improve investment in Tripoli."

    Yassin further emphasized that Lebanon, and mainly Tripoli, possesses a great chance to take advantage from strengthened ties with China along with sharing expertise between them.

    He added "it can also benefit from China's position in the international economic arena and its plan to enhance its Belt and Road Initiative."
