    Iran begins oil sales using energy bourse

    (MENAFN) Iran was revealed to have commenced its operation of offering the private sector its crude oil using its energy bourse.

    Iran was confirmed to have been able to put its crude oil on sale using Iran Energy Exchange (IRENEX) for the first time in more than seven years.

    The purchase of the Iranian crude oil through IRENEX reached 280,000 barrels, standing at a rate of USD74.85 a barrel.

    Chief Operating Officer at Iran's Central Securities Depository, Fariba Akhavan unveiled: "today, four Iranian firms provided a trading code to take part in the transaction run by the International Circle of the Iran Energy Exchange."

    The official added that this comes "after depositing ten percent of the whole shipment price into the banking account of the Central Securities Depository of Iran."
