    Sudan approves 2019 state budget

(MENAFN) The Sudanese government was announced to have finally approved its state budget for next year, while the country suffers from an economic crisis.

Under the 2019 state budget, subsidies on basic commodities will remain while an anti-corruption clause will be added.

Sudan's government will be spending USD1.13 million to fight corruption, an amount hailed by Chairman of the Sudanese Transparency Organization (STO) Al-Tayeb Mukhtar.

The government is expecting its revenue to record a 39 percent surge to stand at USD3.43 billion, while registering a decline in its deficit to hit 3.3 percent from 3.7 percent.

It comes while Sudan suffers from growing inflation with demonstrations standing against hikes on prices of bread.
