    Jordanian central bank imposes interest rates hikes

    (MENAFN) The Central Bank of Jordan decided to inject 25 basis points to the interest rates on a range of monetary policy tools, effective December 24th.

    It comes after monetary expansions were witnessed at regional and global scales, as they aim to boost Jordan's monetary and fiscal stability.

    The Central Bank issued a statement, announcing its resolution to maintain refinancing rates at1.75 percent for initiatives in Amman, and 1 percent for the remaining governorates.

    The move follows previous hikes in interest rate in March and September, each month by 25 basis points.
