Syrian aircraft lands in Tunisian airport

(MENAFN) Tunisia has welcomed the first Syrian airplane to land in the country following six years of halted relations between the two sides.

The Syrian aircraft, which landed at Monastir International Airport, was confirmed to have been carrying 150 tourists from Syria.

The Tunisian airport's Director General Mohamed Aziz revealed that "this charter flight is managed by a private Syrian airline."

The flight, the official added, is part of a plan organized by tour operators and Syrian travel agencies.
