    Israeli diamond exports drop 1.3 percent

    (MENAFN) Israel was hit with a 1.3 percent decline in its exports of diamond by the end of last year, reaching USD6.73 billion on annual basis.

    The Israeli diamond export market marked stability following five years of significant drops, even though 2018 recorded a decline.

    Israel's Ministry of Economy confirmed that the country witnessed a sharp 40 percent fall in diamond exports between 2012 and 2017.

    In its statement, the ministry added that the country was also struck with a 2.5 percent decrease in its polished diamond exports to stand at USD4.48 billion, with rough diamond jumping 1.1 percent to USD2.25 billion.
