Jordan keen to bolster U.S. cooperation
(MENAFN) Jordan expressed its willingness to expand its cooperation with the United States in various areas, including economy and trade.
Bilateral relations between Jordan and the U.S. were addressed in a meeting held between Jordanian Minister of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs Ayman Safadi and U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.
The two diplomats shed light on a range of matters besides bilateral ties, including a number of concerns within the region.
"We held productive talks on strengthening our historic partnership and bilateral relations. Our economic, trade, defense and security cooperation is at the best levels," the Jordanian minister confirmed.
Safadi added that "we are keen to strengthen this cooperation. The United States is a friend and ally that we highly value its support for the Kingdom. This support, particularly the five-year assistance endorsed by President Trump's administration, helped us address economic challenges."
