Jordan temporarily stops energy power plant licenses
(MENAFN) The Jordanian government will be suspending license issuances for electricity power plants for a short term.
Such a move was taken given that the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources launched a review on the grid's demand as well as capacity.
Jordan is now prioritizing energy storage initiatives along with the linking of grids besides easing energy loss to cut energy expenses, the cabinet explained.
It comes as the ministry forecasts 2,350MW of renewable energy capacity to be recorded by 2020, amounting for 20 percent of Jordan's energy.
