GCC to see 62 percent jump in water demand by 2025: MEED

(MENAFN) Water needs are forecast to see a 62 percent surge across Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states in 2025.

GCC nations will need to provide 4,563 million imperial gallons per day (MIGD) of installed desalination capacity, MEED noted in its report.

It comes while desalination projects of over USD80 billion have already been launched around the GCC, MEED unveiled.

In order to satisfy water demand, governments across the region are looking for the private sector financial assistance for the initiatives, the report added.
