Morocco hits USD91.6b in 2018 bank lending

(MENAFN) Morocco was unveiled to have reached USD91.6 billion in its bank lending last year, marking a 3.22 percent boost.

According to Bank al-Maghrib, real estate loans amounted for 30.7 percent of the total bank lending to account for USD28.1 billion.

Bank lending went 20 percent for processing loans, the bank revealed, which accounted for USD18.3 billion during the year.

Treasury and current account surpluses registered a 6.18 percent jump in banking lending to take USD18.6 billion by the end of the year.

Such hikes are attributed to the tough conditions financial firms set for short-term loans, the bank added.
