Iran plans extending natural gas to all villages
(MENAFN) An official of the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) confirmed a plan to supply each village in Iran with natural gas over the upcoming two or three years.
Currently, natural gas is reaching 3,000 Iranian villages despite the process of providing rural regions with gas to be challenging.
NIGC managing director unveiled that Iran has the daily capacity to move 750 million cubic meters (mcm) in its gas network.
According to the director, "some 93.6 percent of Iran's population enjoy natural gas; gas is supplied to 97 percent of people in the urban areas and 82 percent of people in the rural regions."
