Sudanese inflation plunges sharply to 43.45 percent

(MENAFN) Sudan was slapped with a significant decline in the rate of its inflation last month to stand at 43.45 percent, compared to the 72.94 percent seen a month earlier.

According to a Central Statistics Bureau report, the decline is driven by a plunge seen in food prices along with a fall in prices of drinks and transportation.

Meanwhile, inflation at urban areas reportedly sunk 41.58 percent, from 68.25 percent in December 2018.

Rural areas in Sudan reportedly saw an inflation shrink of 44.62 percent compared to the 76.93 percent a month earlier.
