    Beirut's Rafik Hariri airport jumps 7.37 percent in travelers

    (MENAFN) Lebanon registered a jump by over 7 percent in the number of passengers going in and out of Rafik Hariri International Airport in Beirut by the end of last year.

    Rafik Hariri International Airport received 8,841,966 passengers last year to mark a 7.37 percent boost from the 8,234,782 travelers seen in 2017.

    Figures were unveiled in an annual report of commercial air traffic of which the Directorate-General of Civil Aviation issued.

    According to data, the airport registered an 8.1 percent surge in the overall arrivals by last year, with Africa accounting for 11.3 percent, Europe amounting for 9.1 percent and Asia for 7.2 percent.

    Meanwhile, the airport's departures registered a 6.6 percent boost with Africa making up 13.9 percent, Europe contributing with 7.9 percent and Asia 5 percent.
