Iran mulls over linking power grid to Russia
(MENAFN) Iran is currently considering a project to link the Iranian power grid via Azerbaijan to reach Russia, announced energy minister Reza Ardakanian.
According to the energy minister, "we are considering plans for connecting the country's power grid to Russia through the Republic of Azerbaijan, which will help synchronize Iran"s power system with that of Russia."
The minister further hailed bilateral relations between Iran and Azerbaijan, unveiling that a joint commission meeting on economy will be carried out soon.
Ardakanian added that he discussed with the economy minister of Azerbaijan the potential of electricity cooperation with Turkey.
