Qatar Petroleum floats LNG carrier fleet tender
(MENAFN) Qatar Petroleum (QP) is floating a tender as part of its North Field Expansion (NEF) initiative, inviting the establishment of a liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier fleet.
In a statement, the Qatari giant confirmed "the invitation foresees initial delivery of 60 LNG carriers, with the potential to exceed 100 new carriers over the next 10 years."
According to the giant, the tender is expected to achieve an 11 percent hike in the international global LNG to stand at 19 percent.
Late last year, International Gas Union revealed, the number of LNG carriers reached 525.
Under the tender, QP is offering a window for replacements of current LNG fleet witnessed in Qatar.
