Qatari USD480m grant reaches PA, Gaza
(MENAFN) The Palestinian Authority (PA) and the Gaza Strip are receiving a USD480 million grant from Qatar in support of various economic sectors in the country.
USD300 million out of the USD480 million will be used in the budget the PA set for the health and education sectors.
Meanwhile, USD180 million will be spent on UN programs for Palestinians along with electricity services.
Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani made the order for the financial assistance to reach Palestine.
Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh stated "this honorable decision is a continuation of the unwavering Qatari stances that support the Palestinian people politically and financially, in addition to defending Palestinian rights on international platforms."
