    UAE likely to jump 23 percent in e-commerce

    (MENAFN) The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is expected to achieve a 23 percent surge per year in its e-commerce dealings between 2018 and 2022.

    According to a joint study that Dubai Economy and Visa conducted, e-commerce transactions within the UAE are likely to stand at USD16 billion this year.

    Based on the study, the UAE is considered among the most accelerated growing markets within the region in e-commerce.

    Visa's general manager for the Mena region Marcello Baricordi commented: "by growing the e-commerce sector in the UAE, there is a tremendous opportunity to drive economic growth and extend the benefits of digital payments to residents and businesses in the country."
