Iran to launch 10 dams to supply water
(MENAFN) Iran is ready to launch ten massive dams across the Islamic Republic before this Iranian year comes to an end, as announced Iranian Energy Minister Reza Ardakanian.
Water will be reaching through the dams more than 26,000 hectares of land through modern irrigation systems, as the energy minister assured.
Capacity of hydro power production in Iran is also expected to achieve an increase through the new dams, the minister affirmed.
Right now, the Energy Ministry noted, the country is establishing 17 hydroelectric power plants with an overall capacity of 3,800 MW, and are expected to have an average power production of 7,700 gigawatt hour per year.
