    1.5 percent decline in Turkish economic growth

    (MENAFN) From April to June 2019, gross domestic product (GDP) growth at current prices in Turkey declined to stand at an overall of around USD175 billion.

    Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) revealed a 1.5 percent drop in the Turkish economy during the second quarter on annual basis.

    A TurkStat statement noted that "when the activities which constitute the GDP were analyzed; the total value added increased by 3.4% in the agricultural sector, decreased by 2.7% in the industry sector and 12.7% in the construction sector and 0.3% in the services sector (wholesale and retail trade, transport, storage, accommodation and food service activities) compared with the same quarter of last year in the chained linked volume index."

    Meanwhile, seasonally- and calendar-adjusted GDP in Turkey posted a 1.2 percent boost on quarterly basis, as statistics unveiled.
