    Decline in Qatari economic growth

(MENAFN) Official data revealed that Qatar witnessed a 1.4 percent decline in its economic growth from April to June 2019, with such contraction caused by a decline in fields of manufacturing and construction.

Gross domestic product (GDP) in Qatar during the three-month period recorded a 0.9 percent fall from figures seen during the first quarter, as government data showed.

Qatar's Planning and Statistics Authority revealed that the manufacturing sector posted a 7.4 percent decrease, with the construction sector plunging by 3.5 percent.

During the second quarter, the Qatari economy contracted to stand at USD55.1 billion, from the USD55.9 billion registered during the same period last year, and dropped by 0.95 percent on quarterly basis.
