Oman's share index closes in green
(MENAFN) MSM30 index closed at 4,092.77, up 0.22per cent. The Sharia Index closed up by 0.17 per cent at 558.19 points. Al Jazeera Services, up 6.38 per cent, was the top gainer. Sharqiya Desalination, down 9.69 per cent, was the top loser. Al Jazeera Service was the most active in terms of a number of shares traded while the most active in terms of turnover was OIFC.
A total number of 544 trades were executed during the day's trading session, generating a turnover of USD3.14million with more than 7.74 million shares changing hands. Out of 45 traded stocks, 18 advanced, 8 declined and 19 remained unchanged. At the session close, GCC and Arab investors were net buyers for USD283.485while domestic investors were net sellers for RO 104K followed by foreign investors for USD13,003worth of shares.
Financial Index closed at 6,539.92 points, up 0.29 per cent. Oman Qatar Insurance, Muscat Finance, Al Anwar Holding, Bank Nizwa, and National Bank of Oman were up by 2.13 per cent, 1.67 per cent, 1.16 per cent, 1.08 per cent, and 1.06 per cent respectively. Al Madina Takaful and HSBC Bank Oman were down by 1.22 per cent and 0.78 per cent respectively.
