    Jordan: economy to develop in 2020 by 2.2 percent

    (MENAFN) Jordan expects its economy to increase by 2.2 percent in 2020 in regardless of local and regional challenges, as it said on Sunday.


    The government presented the 2020 draft state budget law to the Lower House, with an estimated shortage of about USD1.8 billion after foreign findings, according to Jordan's Minister of Finance Mohammad Ississ.


    Ississ said in a statement that, "the current expenditure is expected to reach 8.383 billion dinars in 2020, an increase of 414 million dinars from 2019," adding, foreign grants are likely to get to 807 million dinars in 2020, the same as 2019.


    Jordan's economy has proved flexible and acted as a model for holding crises even with the regional confusion and global collapse, as said by Ississ, adding that, Jordan's public debt has grew and recently accounts for 97 percent of the gross domestic product.
