    Turkey: daily electricity usage increase by 1.4 percent

    (MENAFN) Official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) showed that, Turkey's daily electricity usage grew by 1.4 percent to 870,403 megawatt-hours on Thursday.


    According to data from TEIAS, hourly power usage peaked at 18:00 local time with 41,399 megawatt-hours; the country's electricity usage decreased to its lowest point of 28,615 megawatt-hours at 05:00.


    On Thursday, total electricity production arrived at 859,642 megawatt-hours, with a 1.4 percent climb in comparison with the earlier day; most of the output came from natural gas plants amounting 204,077 megawatt-hours.


    Imported coal and natural gas plants followed with 187,153 megawatt-hours and 180,155 megawatt-hours, respectively and Turkey's electricity exports totaled to 3,993 megawatt-hours while imports totaled 14,754 megawatt-hours, on Thursday.
