    Turkey: daily electricity usage drop by 1.7 percent

    (MENAFN) Official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) showed that, Turkey's daily electricity usage dropped by 1.7 percent to 855,617 megawatt-hours on Friday.


    According to data from TEIAS, hourly power usage peaked at 18:00 local time with 40,363 megawatt-hours; Turkey's electricity consumption decreased to its lowest point of 28,779 megawatt-hours at 05:00.


    On Friday, total electricity production arrived at 849,008 megawatt-hours, with a 1.24 percent drop in comparison with the previous day and most of the output came from natural gas plants amounting 199,233 megawatt-hours.


    Imported coal and hydroelectricity plants followed with 188,901 megawatt-hours and 169,094 megawatt-hours, respectively.
