60 percent of Saudi employees' salaries in private sectors to be covered
(MENAFN) 60 percent of wages of Saudi employees in the private sectors will be paid for three months, according to Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
The king offered a budget of USD2.4 billion for the program to control the effects of COVID-19 in the private sectors as some workers may be unemployed due to this crisis.
The employers have the right, rather than ending the contract of a Saudi worker, to apply for compensation to the General Organization for Social Insurance (GOSI) for the workers, at 60 percent of the registered wage in (GOSI) for a duration of three months, at a maximum of 9,000 Saudi Riyals monthly per employee.
The order comes to control the economic impact on the labor market, as said by Minister of Finance and Chairman of GOSI, Mohammed Al-Jadaan.
