    KSA, Bahrain non-oil trade increases

(MENAFN) The world-wide Covid-19 outbreak did not hinder non-oil trade between Saudi Arabia and Bahrain which has augmented 43 percent to USD688.4 million during the third quarter of 2020 in comparison to USD481 million during Q3 of 2019.

The increase in trade between both parties is a direct result of easing limitations on cargo transport over the King Fahd Causeway last August.

Joint business between the two countries increased 12 percent over the USD2 billion mark during the first three quarters of 2020 to document a significant augmentation since 2019 amount of USD1,93 billion.

Board member of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI), Abdulhakim Al Shamary, stated: "The King Fahd Causeway acts as an essential link between Bahrain and the wider $1.5 trillion Gulf economy for millions of passengers and commercial trucks each year."

Adding: "Despite Covid-19, commercial drivers have still been able to use the bridge enabling critical continuity for the logistics sector."
