    Iran turns to renewable energy

    (MENAFN) A representative with Iran's Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Organization (known as SATBA) stated that almost 28 new renewable power factories will be established all over the country by the end of the present Iranian calendar year (March 20, 2021).

    Ali Shab-Navard declared that as of right now, 54 industries are building renewable power factories that comprises in solar, wind, and hydroelectric, with a full capacity of 229.39 megawatts (MW) across Iran.

    Shab-Navard highlighted that once the mentioned power factories start working, they will produce 493,500 megawatt-hours (MWh) of electricity every year, while simultaneously saving 140 million cubic meters of natural gas fuel and 109 million liters of water usage. Not to mention that it will decrease carbon dioxide pollution by 318,000 tons annually.

    The representative noted that Iranian households and small businesses are also working on becoming more dependent on renewable energies, which is why over the last two months 105 rooftop PV stations with a total capacity of 1,607 kilowatts have begun operating over the country.
