    Turkey's stock market sees increase

    (MENAFN) Turkey's benchmark stock index increased to 0.71 percent at 1,152.63 points by the end of Tuesday, September 27th.

    Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index had began the day at 1,140.96 points and ended up rising to 1, 1445.45 points, which is an 8.18 points increase, by the end of Monday, October 26th.

    Borsa Istanbul will open for half a day on Wednesday and be closed on Thursday, October 29th, in celebration of the Republic Day holiday.

    On Tuesday, October 27th, the index drifted between 1,133.73 and 1,157.87 points.

    The overall market value of the BIST 100 was approximately 848 billion Turkish liras (USD103 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of 22.1 billion Turkish liras (USD2.70 billion).

    Based on information posted by Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets, the cost of one ounce of gold was USD1, 900.25 by market close, while the cost of Brent crude oil was almost USD41.35 per barrel as of Tuesday, October 27th.
