    Turkey to pay off debts

    (MENAFN) The Treasury and Finance Ministry stated on Friday, October 30th, that The Turkish Treasury will be paying off debts estimated 89.9 billion Turkish liras (almost USD10.74 billion) within the upcoming three months.

    During the period from November 2020 till January 2021 The Treasury will pay off 12.2 billion Turkish liras (USD1.46 billion) in external debts that includes 5.3 billion Turkish liras (USD633.29 million) in interest expenses.

    For the upcoming three months, 77.7 billion Turkish liras (USD9.3 billion) of local debt recovery can also be noted with almost 28 billion Turkish liras (USD3.34 billion) going to interest expenses, while the remaining amount will be put into principal expenses.

    The Treasury will ask for a 60 billion Turkish liras (USD7.17 billion) loan from domestic markets within the upcoming three months, this was based on data from the ministry's borrowing approach.

    However the Treasury plans on only borrowing from internal sources within the mentioned above period.
