    Turkey's tourism revenues drop

(MENAFN) The Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) declared on Friday, October 30th, that the country's tourism proceeds came to USD4 billion in the third quarter of the present year.

As a result of the Covid-19 outbreak lockdowns and travel regulations quarterly tourism proceeds decreased 71.2 percent (USD14 billion) when compared to the same period of the previous year, that being from July to September.

"While 71.6% of this income (excluding GSM roaming and marina service expenditures) was obtained from foreign visitors, 28.4% was obtained from citizens resident abroad," TurkStat stated.

Data collected portray that individual expenses made up almost USD3.1 billion of the overall tourism income, while almost USD946.7 million of the proceeds were from package tour expenses.
