Kuwait: Officials in Ministry of Finance resign in protest

(MENAFN) A resignation letter that was written by the second in command in Kuwait's Ministry of Finance and five senior associates has been published, after the mentioned individuals stepped down to protest a reshuffle of nearly all major ministerial posts, where they claimed that the changes were not made according to warrants.

The ministry posted on Twitter that it had accepted the decision made in the interest of public concern, but made no comments in regard to the accusations made by the party that resigned.

In the letter, Saleh Al-Sarawi, the deputy minister, and five assistant undersecretaries, expressed that they decided to quit because the ministry was "placing of self interest above good performance." They also mentioned that the new hires were not qualified for their new rankings.

The mentioned party also called out the government for their endeavors to start "unfeasible high-cost projects, without taking into consideration the difficulties and circumstances" public finances are undergoing.
