Gulf uses Covid-19 crisis to innovate

(MENAFN) In order to succeed financially in the post-pandemic world, major cities in the Gulf are being encouraged to put sustainable innovation ahead of everything, strengthen human capital, and back up new methods of trade.

HSBC has released new records on cities like Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Riyadh, urging industry titans to use the Cronoavirus outbreak as a channel to make cities more digitalized, cleaner, and greener.

Professor Greg Clark, writer of the records and global head of Future Cities and New Industries at HSBC, declared: "MENAT is home to bustling cosmopolitan cities with extraordinary histories, and these five in particular are primed to set the standard as future global hubs. Their next chapter of growth will depend on how effectively they can work together as a network, and on the individual ability of their economies to drive climate and sustainability-oriented innovation, reinvented trade flows, and the pursuit of human health and happiness."

The records show research done on the positive effects the virus had on the increased awareness of climate change and the urgent need for more sustainable economies and transportation. Also noting that the low oil prices may be a segue into cleaner energy sources.
