    Iran, Russia ink power plant project deal

    (MENAFN) Iran's Energy Ministry portal (Paven) cited manager of TPPH Steam Power Plant schemes Behnam Khaefi-Nejad while stating that "The project will soon start using a government loan from the Russian Federation".

    Following the prologue of a new service provider by the Russian Ministry of Energy for the building of the 1400 MW Sirik power plant, contract cooperation with the firm started at the start of the present Iranian year (March 19) and after arranging 90 gatherings between the two parts at last the contract was inked, Khaefi-Nejad declared.

    After the finalization of the agreement with the attendance of envoys of the employer, advisor, and delegates of the Ministry of Energy of Russia and Iran, the scheme place with a region of about 200 hectares was handed over to the new service provider, according to the official.

    Highlighting that the first stage of the scheme"s studies is presently completed and the second stage of studies is on the plan, he stated: "According to the plan, after obtaining the final approval from the Russian Ministry of Finance and subsequently opening the project LC, executive operations of the project will begin."
