    Turkey's exports increase in spite of pandemic

    (MENAFN) A top representative stated on Monday, 2nd of November, that Turkey's exports will keep on increasing daily as the country is starting a new chapter in spite of the Covid-19 outbreak.

    Berat Albayrak, Treasury and Finance Minister, posted on Twitter: "We're taking firm steps forward in our economic transformation journey with the goal of more production and employment and more exports."

    Albayrak highlighted that within the previous month, exports increased by 5.6 percent getting to USD17.3 billion when compared with October of last year and 8.3 in comparison to September.

    "Thus, we reached the highest monthly export figure in our country's history, the ratio of exports to imports reached the highest level in 2020 with 87.9%," he noted.

    He also mentioned that records from the Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI), in addition to production and new orders numbers in the manufacturing industry, have also been rising for five months consecutively.

    The PMI records portray an increase for the manufacturing division, where it went up to 53.9 percent in October when compared to 52.8 percent in September.
