    Turkey sees increase in crude steel production

    (MENAFN) The Turkish Steel Producers' Association (TCUD) released on Sunday, 1st of November that the country's crude steel production rose by 2.6 percent amounting to 25.9 million tons within the first nine months of the current year.

    The association declared that the mentioned number makes Turkey the biggest crude steel producer in Europe and the seventh biggest internationally, surpassing Germany.

    Turkey's steel exports revenues were USD10.4 billion within the first nine months of 2020, which is a 14.7 drop from the previous year.

    For the time being, crude steel imports declined by 4.9 percent amounting to USD7.2 billion over the same time frame.

    The export/import exposure ratio was 144.4 percent from January to September 2020 which is a 161 percent decrease when compared to the previous year.
