    Turkey's Treasury registers cash shortage of USD 820M last month

    (MENAFN) Based on a statement issued Friday by Turkey's Treasury and Finance Ministry, a 6.68-billion Turkish liras (USD 820 million) shortage was registered in the country's Treasury's cash balance during October.

    During the same month, the cash profits of the Turkish Treasury amounted to 90.15 billion Turkish liras (USD 11.07 billion).

    Furthermore, the Treasury's expenses, including interest payments of about 11.05 billion liras (USD 1.36 billion), reached nearly at 96.8 billion liras (USD 11.9 billion).

    Whereas non-interest expenditures amounted to 85.79 billion liras (USD 10.54 billion), driving a 4.36 billion liras (USD 535 million) excess in the primary balance.

    The Treasury had no revenues from the privatization or fund income in October.
    The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was around 8.14 at the end of the last month.
