    Iran-Qatar talks to boost cooperation in water, electricity sectors

    (MENAFN) The Iranian Ministry of Energy and the Qatar Electricity and Water Company (QEWC) are looking to enhance collaboration in the electricity and water industries.

    In a summit conducted in Doha on Tuesday between QEWC Head Essa Bin Hilal Al-Kuwari and Mohammad Ali Farahnakian, Iranian Deputy Minister of Energy for International Affairs, the two parties highlighted the enhancement of collaborative efforts.

    At that discussion, both sides intend to expand specialized negotiations between the Qatari company and the Ministry of Energy's relevant units, so that the expected outcomes could be obtained by both nations.

    The Iranian Energy Minister, who is also the chair of the Joint Economic Committee of the two nations, heading the delegation, landed in Doha on Monday to meet with Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani of Qatar and pass a message to him from Iranian President Hassan Rouhani.

    During the meeting with the Qatari emir, the diplomats stressed the need to reinforce the bilateral ties and stressed the need to take actions to implement the decisions and agreements reached during the visit of the Emir of Qatar to Tehran last year, when he met with President Rouhani.
