    Turkey's new decision to attract more foreign investments

    (MENAFN) Turkey's government decision to increase its one-week repo rate can be a chance for the country to attract foreign stockholders, chiefly in portfolio investment, according to Indonesian experts.

    The move came as Turkey's policy to entice additional assets from the motivated provided by central banks around the world during the contemporary global economic crisis, according to a statement by Ibrahim Assuaibi, director of the forex brokerage TRFX Garuda Berjangka.

    The expert further highlighted that the US Federal Reserve, as well as the European and British central banks pumped trillions of dollars in stimulus funds.

    Assuaibi stated: "Turkey is looking to take advantage of those moves by issuing bonds with high interest in order to attract foreign investors," adding that the nation"s budget shortfall can be also reduced with the help of these funds.
