    Jordan: Trade deficit to fall 20 percent

    (MENAFN)The Department of Statistics (DoS) declared on Wednesday that the trade shortfall with the end of the third quarter of this yeardropped off 20 percent adding to JD 4.692 billion (about USD 6.62 billion in comparison with previous year which was JD 5.862 billion (about USD8.27).

    The rate of entire exports, in July-September period, totaled to JD 4.153 billion(about USD5.86), presenting a fall by 5.5 percent compared to JD 4.396 billion in the previous year same period.

    The report declared that, in the meantime, this year's national exports were esteemed at JD 3.699 billion (about USD 5.22), recording a 0.7 percent fall in comparison with the previous year, at the same time as the rate of re-exports came on at JD 454 million (about USD 640.35), recording a drop of 32.1 percent from the same period in the previous year

    The Kingdom"s imports were esteemed at JD 8.846 billion (about USD6415.94), a drop of 13.8 percent in comparison withJD 10.258 billion (about USD14.47) in the previous year.
