MSX index of Oman closes higher by 0.33 percent
(MENAFN) Oman’s benchmark stock index, MSX index ended at 4,216.80 points, up 0.68 per cent from the last end. The Sharia Index closed higher by 0.33 per cent at 526.20 points.
Gulf International Chemical up 3.23 per cent, was the best performer whereas, Muscat Desalinate dropped by 3.33 per cent, was the biggest loser. Stocks of OIFC were the most involved regarding the number of stocks exchanged as well as regarding profits.
An overall number of 414 exchanges were performed throughout the day's exchanging session, producing a revenue of OMR1.72 million (USD4.46), with over 11 million stocks changing ownership. Out of 35 exchanged securities, 17 increased, 5 tanked and 13 stayed at the same value. At the session end, local stockholders were net buyers for OMR120,000 (USD311.4) while GCC & Arab stockholders were net sellers for OMR89,000 (USD230.9) pursued by international stockholders for stocks of value OMR31,000 (USD80.4).
