    Turkish short-term overseas debt stands at USD130.5b

    (MENAFN) According to the Turkish Central Bank announcement on Friday, the country’s short-term overseas debt stock amounted at USD130.5 billion towards the end of February.

    Based on the bank’s statement, the overseas debt that are expected to be settled in the upcoming 12 months registered an increase of 8.5 percent in comparison to the end of last year.

    Throughout this time span, banks' short-term overseas debt stock jumped 6.2 percent to USD54.7 billion, whereas other sectors’ short-term overseas debt stock surged 7.6 percent to USD46 billion.

    The trade credits owing to imports under other sectors stood at USD40.6 billion, climbing 8.5 percent in comparison to the end of the previous year.
