    Residential property sales in Turkey rise 38.8 percent last month

    (MENAFN) In line with most recent statistics issued on Tuesday, Housing property trades in Turkey rose 38.8 percent on a yearly basis last month.

    The Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) mentioned in a report that a sum of 133,058 houses were soldin April, increasing from 95,863 in same month last year.

    Mortgaged house sales were at 32,030 in April, increasing 82.9 percent annually, accounting for 24.1 percent part of entire house sales.

    Trades to foreign purchasers increased 58.1 percent to 6,447.

    Istanbul, Turkiye’s biggest city in terms of residents, had the biggest share with 19.8 percent, or 26,330 house sales.

    Ankara came second place with 12,195 sales and Izmir at 8,459, giving them shares of 9.2 percent and 6.4 percent, individually.

    Russians ran the list of foreign purchasers by buying 1,152 houses last month, shadowed by Iranians at 905 as well as Iraqis with 714.

    As stated by TurkStat throughout the first 4 months of the year, house sales to foreign residents extended 20,791, a rise of 48.9 percent against the same time of 2021.
