Iran ships commodities worth USD358M to Iraq through Mehran crossing
(MENAFN) Director General of Customs Administration of the western district of Ilam has stated that commodities valued at USD358 million has been shipped to Iraq from the Mehran border crossing in the first 3 months of the ongoing Iranian calendar year (March 21-June 21).
In a meeting with Mehr News Agency, Ruhollah Gholami mentioned that 886,000 tons of commodities were shipped to Iraq via this border in the stated period.
He also mentioned that exports through the said crossing have risen by 100 percent in terms of weight and 73 percent in terms of worth in comparison to the same 3 months last year.
He highlighted that Ilam district customs was placed in first spot this year between the 12 customs neighboring Iraq in terms of exchange performance.
Ruhollah Gholami pointed out that the Mehran border crossing has produced employments opportunities for more than 2,000 people employed presently in the place.
