ICCIMA head requests Germany to facilitate visa issuance to grow economic relations
(MENAFN) Chief of Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (ICCIMA) encountered with Chairman of the Board of the German Federal Association for Financial Development and Foreign Trade (BWA) Michael Schumann on Sunday to talk about methods of growing financial ties among the two nations.
The ICCIMA portal mentioned in a report that in this conference, Gholam-Hossein Shafeie condemned German government’s sanctions on distributing visa for Iranian businessmen, stating that easing of visa release is a requirement for the growth of exchange relations among the two nations.
Noting that Germany has continuously been Iran's first exchange associate in Europe, the ICCIMA chief stated that “After the nuclear deal, Germany was the first country to restart relations with Iran and the volume of trade between the two sides increased by 60 percent in a short time. But after the withdrawal of the U.S. from the JCPOA, the volume of economic exchanges between Iran and Germany decreased by 50 percent.”
He went further on praising Germany’s works for preserving financial relations with the Islamic Republic and stated that “I hope your visit can help activate the commercial capacities of both sides further. Especially with the new situation and the war in Ukraine, cooperation between Iran and Germany can have good results for our region and Europe.”
Shafeie additionally noted that the automotive, agriculture, as well as education areas as attractive fields for collaboration among the two nations, stating that “We are becoming the hub of automobile manufacturing in the region and we need new technologies in agriculture due to droughts and limited water resources.”
