Saudi ports’ container throughput capacities increase 9.2 percent in September
(MENAFN) Saudi ports registered a 9.2 percent jump in container via capacities in September this year in comparison to the same month in the last year.
Throughout September, container throughput capacity amounted to an overall of 657,420 twenty-foot equivalent units, in comparison with the 602,033 TEUs throughout the same time span in the last year, according to the Saudi Ports Authority, recognized as Mawani, mentioned in a press release.
It mentioned that the shipped container throughput in September saw a jump of 12.48 percent to amount to 266,654 TEUs in comparison with 218,524 TEUs registered in September last year.
The imported container amount stood at 203,000 TEUs last month, an increase of 6.74 percent in comparison with the same month in 2021.
The report also mentioned that the accomplishment constitutes an outcome of Mawani’s enterprises that target to improve the maritime area and surge working competence.
This comes along with the targets of the National Transport and Logistics Plan that was started in June 2021.
