Turkey anticipates peak solar power volume expansion this year
(MENAFN) Turkey is anticipated to surge a peak of 2.5 gigawatts (GW) of solar power in 2022, due to the firmness of surging local provision against the energy crisis as well as the quick regain from the COVID-19 epidemic, as said by a top firm official in a meeting with Anadolu Agency.
Turkey’s installed solar power volume reached 8.96 GW at the end of last month, with an overall installed electricity volume standing at nearly 102.3 GW.
“With the record capacity additions until the end of this year, we could expect Türkiye's installed solar power capacity to reach 10 GW,” as stated by Evren Evcit, manager of Zorlu Solar and Foreign Investments at Zorlu Enerji Group.
The considerable expansion in solar power additions in 2022 relative to the surge of 1.5 GW of volume in 2021 began after the regain from the COVID-19 epidemic and quickened with the effect of the energy calamity.
