    West Asia’s largest distillation unit starts operating in Abadan Refinery

    (MENAFN) West Asia’s biggest distillation unit has stated operating in Iran’s Abadan Refinery with a volume of 210,000 barrels per day (bpd), the head director of the National Iranian Oil Engineering and Construction Company (NIOEC) declared on Tuesday.

    While giving a speech at the venture’s inauguration ceremony, Farhad Ahmadi stated that the venture's funds at nearly €2.6 billion, asserting that “Due to the pressure of sanctions, the project was divided into two sections and one billion euros was invested in the first section.”

    In line with the representative, the forcing of this venture began in September 5 years ago and throughout its implementation, it was dealing with numerous obstacles, such as restrictions, shortage of economic resources, the coronavirus epidemic, fine dust, and unparalleled heat, but luckily, throughout the last year, with the attempts of domestic specialists, it gained more than 32 percent.

    Talking about the formal inauguration of the refinery’s volume stabilization venture in the upcoming future, Ahmadi stressed that "We hope that at the same time with the inauguration of this plan, the ground would also be broken for the start of the implementation of the second section of the distillation unit project.”
