    Bahrain’s exchange deficit extends to USD69M as shipments drop versus imports last month

    (MENAFN) Bahrain registered a drop of 14 percent in the worth of its shipments of national origin to 350 million Bahraini dinars (USD928 million) throughout the last month, in comparison with 406 million dinars (nearly USD1 billion) for the same month of the last year, the most recent government figures indicate.

    This comes following Bahrain’s third-quarter gross domestic product surged to 4.2 percent on a yearly basis, as said by the finance ministry.

    Its non-oil industry has surged by 4.9 percent, the ministry mentioned in an announcement.

    Saudi Arabia was placed in the 1st spot between foreign destinations, registering 75 million dinars (almost USD199 million) value of Bahraini shipments, as shown by data issued by the Information & eGovernment Authority.

    The US was second with 47 million dinars (around USD124.6 million) whereas the UAE came at the third spot with 31 million dinars (nearly USD82.2 Million) value of Bahrani shipments last month.
