Careem shows noticeable growth in 2022 indicating remarkable revelations
(MENAFN) A wedding dress forgotten in a taxi, 505,856 burgers delivered to hungry customers, as well as 24,000 rides to World Cup arenas are some of the remarkable revelations from Dubai-located super app Careem as it issued its 2022 business figures.
Drivers for the firm – which is possessed by Uber, a company in which Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund has 3.75 percent share – undertook 97 million rides and clocked up 1.2 billion kilometers last year, with Saudi Arabia participating in the highest amount of rides in the area with 26.8 million.
As shown by Careem's figures, mobile phones, laptops, Air Pods as well as wallets were the most repeatedly left items throughout rides, while a bridal dress was the most unconventional left item.
On top of the rides to the Qatar stadiums in the FIFA World Cup, 55,000 trips were finished to and from Dubai’s Expo 2022.
Mudassir Sheikha, chief executive and co-founder of Careem, labeled last year as an “exciting year for Careem” as it recorded its 1 billionth ride, in addition to that it rejoiced its 10th birthday.
He also mentioned “The Super App continued to deliver extraordinary value for customers as Careem Plus grew in popularity and we introduced a range of innovative new ride-hailing, delivery, fintech, and partner services, while expanding Careem BIKE in the UAE and into KSA."
