IDEX, NAVDEX witness signing of 11 agreements valued at USD1.2B
(MENAFN) Eleven agreements valued at 4.5 billion dirhams (USD1.2 billion) were inked on the initial day of the International Defense Exhibition as well as the Naval Defense Exhibition in Abu Dhabi.
The agreements were inked among Tawazun Council — the independent government entity that operates strictly with the UAE's Ministry of Defense and security agencies to maximize worth via obtaining systems — and domestic and international firms.
The two exhibitions started in Abu Dhabi on Monday and is going to carry on until Friday.
Zayed Saeed Al-Meraikhi, the official representative for Tawazun Council, asserted that the council on behalf of the Defense Ministry inked six deals valued at 2.3 billion dirhams with domestic firms and five agreements valued at 2.2 billion dirhams with international firms.
He assured that Tawazun Council inked a deal valued at 2.14 billion dirhams with Halcon, a subsidiary of Edge Group, to procure the Thunder P3 system as well as a 78 million dirhams agreement with Maplin Marine Systems and Services to supply vessels’ technical support facilities.
